Enjoy a late start to your Sunday with our Steamranger Heritage Railway, Adelaide Hills and Hahndorf tour with a 10.00 am departure from the City of Adelaide. One of our driver guides will show you around the Adelaide Hills and Mount Lofty Ranges, through the quaint villages and picturesque scenery before arriving in the oldest German settlement in Australia, Hahndorf.
Hahndorf is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Australia and is a must visit for all who come to Adelaide. You will enjoy the time to explore the village at your own pace.
Mount Barker is a neighbouring township and the start point for the iconic Steamranger Heritage Railway which travels out of the Adelaide Hills, down to the South Coast of the Fluerieu Peninsula to Victor Harbor.
Board the Highlander Train for the return journey through the gumtrees and farming land to the heritage town of Strathalbyn. The Adelaide Hills can become cool in the late afternoon during the warmer months, so it is always good to be prepared.

The original Lutheran woman who settled Hahndorf use to walk their produce from the town to Adelaide 35 kilometres away whilst the menfolk worked the farms. Today 26 kilometres of the route has been turned into the Pioneering Women's Trail.

The Steamranger Heritage Railway maintain and operate over 80 kilometres of railway line, making it the longest preserved railway line in Australia.

When visiting Hahndorf', make sure to call past the Hahndorf Academy to inspect renown artist Sir Hans Heysen's sketches. Heysen lived on the outskirts of the village and quite often made sketches of early village life.
