Conveniently located within 30 minutes from Adelaide and sitting amongst the Onkaparinga Valley in the Adelaide Hills is the oldest surviving German village in Australia, Hahndorf. The town has developed from a small German farming village from the late 1830's to one of the most popular attractions with Australia. Take the opportunity to stroll along the Main Street and browse the many incredible shops; from toys, antiques, books, clothing, shoes, minerals, cuckoo clocks, hand-crafted leather goods, and gift ware, right through to butchers, bakers and candle makers! And there are a few cellar doors and German pubs located along the way for a taste and a stop for lunch. A must visit!
