Experience the Wine Train during Summer

Depart Adelaide from your city hotel and travel into the Adelaide Hills and arrive in the ever growing township of Mount Barker.

 
Step aboard the Summer Season South Coast Wine Train at the Steamranger Mount Barker railway station and travel via heritage train past the eucalyptus trees and through the rolling hills of the Mount Lofty Ranges to arrive at Strathalbyn.

 
Board our coach for a tour of Strathalbyn and travel the short distance to the vineyards of Langhorne Creek to arrive at our first winery for the day.

 

Be guided through a tasting of wines in an informal, relaxed approach with our wine host and cellar door staff. Enjoy discovering a couple of varieties of wine that may be new to you.  

 
Enjoy a 2 course lunch at a local restaurant and take the opportunity to indulge in a glass of wine from the region over lunch.

 
After lunch we visit our second winery for the day learning more about the premium, award winning wines that has made Langhorne Creek legendary.

The wineries that we visit change every tour so returning guests can enjoy a new experience every time they board the South Coast Wine Train.

 

Wineries include Bleasdale, Bremerton, Kimbolton, Lake Breeze, Rusticana, Angas Plains and Vineyard Road, home to the Fleurieu Chocolate Company and Vasse Virgin.

Even though the third and final winery is also within Langhorne Creek, you will find that it is unique in it's story, history and approach to making wine compared to the others.

​

However, all the wineries do have one common thread that joins them all together....the historic vineyards, rich soils and climate of the region that all join to help make some of the best wines available today.

 

After the final winery you will be transferred back to the Strathalbyn Railway Station via coach to board the South Coast Wine Train for your relaxing journey back to Mount Barker. 

Enjoy a local platter of cheeses, smallgoods and produce from the regions, enjoy a chat with a new friend and a laugh with an old as the train departs Strathalbyn and starts to climb towards our destination of Mount Barker.

On arrival at Mount Barker our coach will be waiting to shuttle you back to the city of Adelaide and to your accommodation.

Arrive in Adelaide at approximately 6.30pm and back to your city hotel.
