After breakfast continue into the valley travelling past historic properties and landmarks and enjoying photo opportunities along the way.
Arrive at the first winery and cellar door of St Hallett Wines to enjoy a taste of their popular wines in their small intimate cellar door. View any activity within the winery from the comfort of their cellar door whilst enjoying your tasting.
Travel through the original 1842 German Lutheran settlement of Bethany learning about the Silesian farmers who have had a major influence on the culture and the wine making story of the region.
Arrive at the Mengler Hill lookout and take a few photos and enjoy the view of the Barossa Valley from this panoramic outlook. Your host will point out different landmarks within the Barossa and the surrounding areas and will be happy to take any photos of you and your friends.
Next make your way into the township of Tanunda and stop at the iconic and majestic Chateau Tanunda. Once the largest winery in Australia, this 1880’s chateau has a long history with many stories and is continuing to create a new chapter under the current owners. Explore the historic grounds and the recently redeveloped cellar door.
Peter Lehmann winery will be your lunch venue, pleasantly located on the banks of the Para River. Make a visit to the cellar door for a wine taste prior to indulging in a Weighbridge Platter lunch showcasing local produce from the region.
Enjoy a visit to another winery and cellar door throughout the course of the day. Your host will decide during the tour taking in the interests and palates of the guests travelling.
Other wineries in the region include Langmeil, Rockford, Elderton, Penfolds, Saltrams and Kaesler just to name a few.
Travel back to Adelaide in the early afternoon to arrive back in Adelaide by 3.45pm.
